We have learned a lot this year about many subjects and many creatures. This week we look at the universal truth in nature - everyone has a Mother. We will learn how animal mothers in the wild, (mammals, birds, reptiles, etc.) care for their young. This will spark conversation in class as to how the children's moms care for them. We look forward to what your child will say he/she really appreciates that his/her mom does for them.
We will make a bath salt formula in the classroom for a present for Mother's day this week. We are using natural ingredients--epsom salt, baking soda and essential oils--as well as a fun bath bead. It will be a "delicious" surprise, so be sure to act surprised!!!!!!!!!! Additionally, we will read a special book about a mother elephant who wants just 5 minutes of peace, to remind them the best gift sometimes is just a gift of kindness to those we love.
Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day next week, celebrating your beautiful, smart children!!!
Books we Read: Mother's Day Mice (Eve Bunting); Five Minutes' Peace (Jill Murphy); Animal Babies (harry McNaught)
