We had so much fun with the pond this week. The critters are recovering from all the attention. If you keep the tadpoles, they are low maintenance. Change out the water about every 4 days and try to get some water plants with roots. The tadpoles eat the algae in the water or you can add a little fish food too. As they grow legs and arms, put a rock that is slightly above water level. Once the lungs develop they will need a resting place to come up for air. Once they look mostly like a frog with short tail, you wont need as much water. So many tadpoles get eaten by fish and birds so you are contributing to the safety of our frogs.
The password to Snapfish is "messyfun" and I will put up some pond pictures we took.
