The Woodlands has many ponds in our neighborhoods. We will study the ecosystem of the pond and
the native creatures and plants in our local ponds. We have recreated a pond ecosystem in a water table and filled it with minnows, crawfish, turtles and waterplants. The children will have the opportunity to use small fish nets to scoop up the creatures and take a closer look at them. We will explain the life cycle of the frog on a paper. Time permitting we will play the Heron game where the Heron swoops down to scoop up a frog. We will eat a sweet pond snack to celebrate our new knowledge.
